It can be directly vulcanized using a rubber injection molding machine, with the time shortened from the original approximately 20 minutes to less than 1 minute. Due to the very short vulcanization time required, it can already be directly vulcanized using an extruder, leading to a substantial increase in production efficiency.Easy to recycle and reuse, reducing costs. Waste materials generated during the production process (such as overflow burrs and extruded waste rubber) and final defective products can be directly returned for reuse. Used TPE products can be simply regenerated and recycled, reducing environmental pollution and expanding the sources of renewable resources.Energy-saving. Most thermoplastic elastomers do not require vulcanization or have very short vulcanization times, which can effectively save energy. Taking the energy consumption of high-pressure hose production as an example: rubber consumes 188 MJ/kg, while TPE consumes 144 MJ/kg, achieving an energy saving of more than 25%.Wider application fields. As TPE combines the advantages of both rubber and plastic, it has opened up new application areas for the rubber industry.It can be used for reinforcing and toughening modification of plastics. It has high self-reinforcing properties, simplifies formulations, and the influence of additives on polymers is less restrictive, making it easier to control quality and performance. However, the heat resistance of TPE is not as good as that of rubber; its physical properties decrease significantly as the temperature rises, thus limiting its scope of application. At the same time, compression set, elastic recovery, and durability are relatively poor compared to rubber, and the price is often higher than that of similar rubber. Nevertheless, the advantages of TPE are still very prominent, and various new TPE products are constantly being developed. As an energy-saving and environmentally friendly new rubber raw material, it has a very promising development prospect.TPE is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and odorless, complying with EU, US, and other environmental standards and directives such as ROHS and REACH.
